Hara Hara Shambho Mahadeva

According to Hindu Puranas, during the great mythical churning of the ocean called Samudra Manthan, a pot of poison emerged from the ocean. The gods and the demons were terrified as it could destroy the entire world. When they ran to Shiva for help, he in order to protect the world, drank the deadly poison but held it in his throat instead of swallowing it. This turned his throat blue, and since then he came to be known as 'Nilkantha', the blue-throated one. Shivratri celebrates this event by which Shiva saved the world.

Maha Shivratri, the night of the worship of Lord Shiva, occurs on the 14th night of the new moon during the dark half of the month of Phalguna. It falls on a moonless February/March night, when Hindus offer special prayer to the lord of destruction. Shivratri (Sanskrit 'ratri' = night) is the night when he is said to have performed the Tandava Nritya or the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction. The festival is observed for one day and one night only. This years Maha Shivratri is being celebrated today(17th February 2015).

It is auspicious to hear "Om Namah Shivaya" bhajan today

Aam Aadmi sweeps Delhi assembly seats

Shri Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi party sweeped with its jadhu(broom) 67 seats out of 70 leaving just 3 seats to Shri Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janatha Party. In General elections held in May 2014 BJP had won all the seven lok sabha seats in Delhi. Therefore, it is to be seen also as a judgement of common man on Modi Government. For more details of Delhi election results please see this. Nifty volatility today was very high as can be seen in the chart below.

Grahanila(Planetary positions) as on 1st Feb 2015

As on 1st February 2015 Sun & Mercury in Capricornus, Venus & Mars in Aquarius, Ketu in Pisces, Moon in Gemini, Jupiter in Cancer, Rahu in Virgo and Saturn in Scorpio. Planetary transits in February: 12th Mars -> Pisces, 13th Sun -> Aquarius, 15th Venus -> Pisces.
The planetary positions given above are at the time of Sunrise in India(Kerala) and Moon's conjunction effects on markets may be seen in countries (Asia / Europe / US) over which conjunction(0°) take places. When the angle difference between Moon and the planet is more than 5 degrees or conjunction occurs in Rasis(constellations) other than the Sun's Rasi, there may be a delay up to 24 hours in the conjuntion effect according to their positions (expect only eighty percent success in assumptions based on Moon's conjunction with Mars, Venus and Jupiter as some other astro factors also may influence the market). Since Jupiter and Mercury are in retrograde from 8th December 2014 to 8th April 2015 and from January 22nd to 12th February respectively the market may be highly volatile and unpredictable. (unnoticed the retrograde of mercury in January post and assumption of a downward move on 22nd and 23rd didn't take place).
